Exhibition Rationale:

Perception is the process of acquiring, interpreting, selecting, and organizing sensory information. This concept or approach are found in the field of psychology and the cognitive sciences. The word perception comes from the Latin perception-, percepio, , meaning "receiving, collecting, action of taking possession, apprehension with the mind or senses.

Perception is one of the oldest fields within scientific psychology, and there are correspondingly many theories about its underlying processes. Meaning this theory is increasingly gaining experimental support and could be surmised as dynamic relationship between “description” (in the brain) ↔ senses ↔ surrounding.

In the contexts or art, perception does comes closely in how a person can interprets visually. Art commonly refers to a diverse range of human activities and artifacts, and may be used to cover all or any of the arts, including music, literature and other forms. It is most often used to refer specifically to the visual arts. Some may ask how does perception connects with work of art (visual art)? In this case the best reference was in 1915 French artist Marcel Duchamp began doing his "readymades" — found objects he chose and presented as an art.

He assembled the first readymade, a bicycle wheel mounted on a stool. Followed soon after his work Fountains, the urinal signed with the pseudonym R. Mutt that shocked the art world in 1917, was selected as “the most influential artwork of the 20th century” by 500 renowned artists and historian. This is the aura of extraordinary artwork that change perception of what should art look like or be like. In other words art does give new interpretations in the world that we are living and other factors that give birth to new idea or ways of seeing.

Work Statement :

My work is a self discovering journey that I found to be very interesting as its blends with the idea and concept of my artwork. In the process of making my artwork, negative and positive element exist consciously and unconsciously. These series collage inspires from basic form of nature and geometrical forms.

With the combination of organic and geometric simultaneously simplicity and complexity of nature brings the idea of sophistication of nature itself. While the process of repeating a singular form somehow it creates new perception and interpretation. These combination are my views and how I hope to interpret it in my artworks.

Digital photography

Work Statement:

The photos are a sort of a release of emotional pent up feelings, so basically it is a group of random pictures that i took in no particular time to convey the different emotions at that time.

I especially love the feel of emptiness of space that surrounds certain pictures in different timezones and places, the feeling of alienation and abandonment. I like to explore the different colors and textures that was in front of me, for example the dark clouds, the color of a dying leaf, the textures of dead branches, the ripples of dropping water and so on and so forth.

All of the photos I took using my SLR camera and edited using a few softwares for example, Picasa and Paint.NET.
